MY CHILD IS ILL!

When Should Children Stay Off School?

Children should stay at home if they are unwell and would not be able to take part comfortably in school activities or if there is a risk of passing infection to others.

Please keep your child at home if they have:

  • A high temperature (fever)
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea
(children should stay off school until at least 48 hours after the last episode)
  • A contagious illness, such as chickenpox, flu, or COVID‑19
  • Severe coughs, sore throats, or breathing difficulties
  • Any illness where they need rest, medication, or close supervision

If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please let us know as soon as possible on the first day of absence.

Parents should either:

Telephone the school office, or
Record the absence using the Edulink app

This helps us keep accurate records and ensures we know your child is safe.
If your child remains unwell, please continue to update us each day.
