ABOUT US

King’s Stanley Church of England Primary School is a nurturing and inclusive school, rooted in our core values of Respect Responsibility and Resilience. We offer a broad and inspiring curriculum that enables every child to achieve academically while developing confidence social skills and strong character.

We welcome children aged 4 to 11, organised into seven single-age classes of 30 pupils. With 210 children on roll and places for 30 new pupils each year we are usually oversubscribed.

We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Kavuka School in Kenya which broadens our pupils’ global awareness and cultural understanding. Health and wellbeing are central to school life — as a Gloucestershire Healthy Living and Learning School we promote healthy lifestyles and emotional wellbeing every day. Our Gold Sports Award reflects the wide range of sporting opportunities available so children can stay active discover talents and develop teamwork.

Although we are at the heart of King’s Stanley village we also welcome families from Stonehouse, Selsley and even Stroud.

We actively involve our students in the decision-making process within the school. The School Parliament assumes a leading role in shaping our policies and practices. They were integral in our deciding our school’s 3Rs “Respect, Responsibility, Resilience”.

We feel our school thrives because of the support from parents, families, and friends. We are fortunate to have dedicated and compassionate Governors, as well as a wonderful Parent-Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) who organise enjoyable fundraising events for all. To support working parents we provide our Kingfishers Club which offers high-quality before and after-school childcare on site.
